Bond was denied for a Rockmart man facing a felony and misdemeanor charges after a domestic altercation on Saturday, according to Polk County Police reports.

Officers jailed James Terrence Smith, 34, of a Rockmart address, after he was reported to have gotten into an argument with the victim that turned violent on Saturday, January 20, around 2:45 p.m. The victim told police they were hit by Smith, who in turn was hit with a small potted plant to get him to stop.

The victim also told police Smith took their vehicle and purse when he left their residence and took off toward Rome.
