Rotarians present RHS alum Neely Collum with a scholarship

Polk County Rotarians honored a student during their Tuesday lunch meeting this week that graduated this spring not only with a high school diploma but also a college degree.

Neely Collum was presented with a scholarship award from Rotary President Debbie Ross during their July 13 meeting, honoring her for her hard work during her four years of high school. She was joined by her mom for the luncheon.

Collum, who already has achieved much during her high school years including earning her CNA certificate and Associate’s Degree at Georgia Highlands College, will be heading to Kennesaw State University this fall with much of her studies being covered by the HOPE Scholarship. She also spent time working at Mosaic Place during the past year, inspiring in part her goal to help people.

She received a $1,000 check from the Rotary Club of Polk County to help with additional costs of her forthcoming studies in the field of Human Services.
