Search enters the fourth day for Jimmy Blackmon, U.S. Marshals service joins the hunt

The fourth day of a search continues for Jimmy Brian Blackmon, who remains wanted for the murder of Ginger Blackmon on Sunday according the Polk County Police officials.

Now federal officials have joined the manhunt for Blackmon, 50, with the inclusion of the U.S. Marshals Service, as the search of the area around Highway 101 and Pleasant Valley Road in Floyd County continues. This was where Blackmon was last seen by his son, Corey Blackmon, who dropped his father off in the area after ditching the murder suspect’s car at the East Rome Walmart Sunday night after the shooting.

Blackmon was arrested and later released on bail on obstruction charges for lying to police initially about helping his father following the murder.

The 50-year-old suspect is a 5-foot-8 white male, weighing in at 190 pounds and with brown eyes and dark brown hair.

Blackmon is still considered armed and dangerous. Police are following up on any and all tips that are being provided by the public about Blackmon’s potential whereabouts, and are working with several different law enforcement agencies in the search at this time.



Police ask anyone with information about his whereabouts to immediately call 911, or Det. Caleb Bowman at the PCPD Criminal Investigation Division at 678-246-5107.

Additionally, those utilizing security or trail cameras in the general area around Pleasant Valley Road are asked to please search their footage for any sign of Blackmon’s path in the area, and turn any findings they might have over to police.
