The holidays are a tense time, even more when families are fighting. Police didn’t have full narratives available on Monday following the break for several incidents that occurred over the Thanksgiving holiday.
Polk County Police noted at least five different incidents where arrests were made in reports of domestic violence.

The first of those occurred on Thanksgiving Day when Juan Carlos Moreno, 34, of a Cedartown address, was taken into custody after the victim and a child who witnessed the incident reported an assault. Additionally, reports stated that it was claimed Moreno might have a firearm in his car, and two more in the house.
Police found Moreno outside of his home around midday on Thanksgiving. He claimed that he and the victim had been arguing but he never touched her.
A bruise was left on the leg of the victim where he was alleged to have pushed his foot against it while holding the victim against the wall inside the home.
He was taken into custody without incident and charged with a misdemeanor for simple assault and a felony for cruelty to children in the second degree – negligently causing excessive physical or mental pain. He was later released from the Polk County Jail on a $2,000 bond.

The following day on Friday, Polk County Police arrested Marvin Nelson Brown, 53, for a domestic altercation lasting much of the day on Polk Street in Rockmart.
Per the report, Brown was alleged to have injured a victim, plus used threats and abusive language while preventing them from leaving the Polk Street residence during the Nov. 24 incident.
Police jailed Brown on felony charges of false imprisonment, aggravated assault and terroristic threats and acts.
His bond was denied, and he remained in jail as of this posting.
Two incidents were reported on Saturday.

Police arrested Ryan Bridges on November 25 around 10 p.m. when he was accused of being involved in a heated domestic incident that brought County Police out to a Pettit Road address.
A full report wasn’t available, but he was noted to have caused injuries to the victim while children were present at the home and did this in front of a witness.
Bridges was denied bond after his arrest on a felony charge of aggravated assault and misdemeanor charges of two counts of cruelty to children in the third degree and criminal trespass under the family violence act.
He remained in custody as of this posting.

Police also received a report that Jessica Harris, 40, of a Rockmart-area address that on Saturday she violated an order in place and assaulted the victim during a Saturday incident.
The report was made the following day at the Polk County Police Department, and she was released on a $1,000 bond for a misdemeanor battery charge under the family violence act.

The final report provided was for the arrest of Wayneal Erik Sanchez-Godinez, 24, of a Cedartown address.
Polk County Police arrived after a call came in for a heated domestic at a Allen Drive apartment Sunday night, where alcohol was alleged to have fueled the incident.
The report that didn’t include details did indicate that he caused injuries and made threats and used abusive language toward the victim while children were present.
He was taken into custody Sunday night, November 26 and charged with misdemeanors for simple battery and two counts of cruelty to children in the third degree.
Sanchez-Godinez was released on a $3,000 bond after spending the night in custody.
