No foul play is suspected following the discovery of skeletal remains on Tuesday night in Aragon, according to officials.

The Polk County Coroner’s Office confirmed the discovery of skeletal remains that appear to be human bones on the evening of Tuesday, January 23, 2024 in dirt from the Aragon Cemetery set aside after previous preparation of a grave.

The remains were located around the area of 2616 Rome Highway, Aragon.

The Aragon Police and the Georgia Bureau of Investigation are looking into the matter, but due to the age of the remains no crime has been suspected of being committed at this time.
