A small gathering was held late in the morning on Memorial Day 2021 to honor those who sacrificed all in the defense of the nation while serving in the armed forces.

The gathering this year was brief but included the playing of taps and prayers for the group who took part at the Veteran’s Memorial in Cedartown on East Avenue next to the library.

The park – commemorated in 2004 – bears the names of many of Cedartown’s veterans who served in the several branches of the armed forces.

Flags were placed around the park in honor of Memorial Day as well.
