The search for Jimmy Brian Blackmon continued into a fifth day as police continue the manhunt for the murder suspect, accused in the shooting death of Ginger Leanne Green Blackmon on Sunday evening.
Officials said they believe that Blackmon remains in the area around Highway 101 and Pleasant Valley Road where he was last seen by his son late Sunday night, and they continue to search that general area for any signs of his whereabouts after he was let out of his son’s truck and took off on foot.
Blackmon, 50, is a white male with dark brown hair and brown eyes. Police reported that he is 5-foot-8 and weighs in at 190 pounds.
He is believed to still be armed and dangerous, and is actively being sought on a murder warrant.
On Wednesday, the U.S. Marshals Service joined the search for Blackmon in Floyd County with local law enforcement after he fled the scene of the shooting at his home on Rice Road Sunday night where police found 36-year-old Ginger Blackmon shot and killed.
Any tips about his whereabouts can be extremely useful to law enforcement, and all information is being followed up on when provided.
Police ask anyone with information about his whereabouts to immediately call 911, or Det. Caleb Bowman at the PCPD Criminal Investigation Division at 678-246-5107.
Additionally, those utilizing security or trail cameras in the general area around Pleasant Valley Road are asked to please search their footage for any sign of Blackmon’s path in the area, and turn any findings they might have over to police.
