Glenn Robinson – an Air Force veteran – gave an address to the gathered crowd around Seaborn Jones Park and the Veterans Memorial in downtown Rockmart on Sunday afternoon for the annual Memorial Day ceremony put on by American Legion Post 12.

Robinson told the audience that the spirit of the holiday has gotten away from its original intent – to honor and remember with solemn dignity – the sacrifice that brave men and women who have served in the Armed Forces have made for the nation.
