The Polk County Board of Education held their combined session on Tuesday evening, January 9, 2024 at the meeting room at the Central Office in Cedartown.

This month’s meeting took on some of the procedural requirements for the start of the new year – including the decision on a new chair and vice chair for the board for 2024. Chris Culver will now be the board chair for the year, and Britt Madden Jr. will serve as vice chair.

Additionally, teacher bonuses were approved with a supplement from the PSD coffers, board members approved spending on a new scoreboard for the football field and sound system for the gym, and much more.
