Where is Monisha?
That’s a question that investigators are seeking the answer to even after charging a suspect with murder and other felonies related to a missing persons case stemming from late February.
The Georgia Bureau of Investigation and the Cedartown Police Department are still searching for the body of a missing woman now presumed dead at the hands of the man who stands accused of the crime who remains in the DeKalb County Jail.
Joseph Leroy Jones, 30, remains in the jail facility in Decatur after he was booked into the facility on a pair of felony probation violation warrants, where he has remained in custody since February 28.
Jones is charged locally with murder, aggravated assault by strangulation and aggravated stalking in connection to Monisha Leath’s death. She has yet to be found since she was reported missing late in February, dead or alive.
Cedartown Police Chief Jamie Newsome said the investigation remains ongoing and police are still asking for the public’s help in finding Leath.
He said the investigation is ongoing, and could not make any further comments at this time.
Those with information are encouraged to contact the Georgia Bureau of Investigation or the Cedartown Police Department with further details.
