Election officials reported that as of 9 a.m., some 783 people had already cast their ballot since polls opened this morning at 7 a.m.

There were no wait times at the polls with the exception of the Aragon precinct, which had a three minute wait to vote as of the 9 a.m. check-in with poll workers.

Seven precincts are open this morning in Polk County, and information about their location is available here.

The precinct with the most voters so far as 9 a.m. was Rockmart with 165 ballots cast on Election Day so far. Cedartown sat at 139, Aragon at 131, Fish Creek at 109, Lake Creek at 96, Camp Antioch at 84 and Blooming Grove at 59 ballots cast so far.

As polls remain open until 7 p.m., the Board of Elections will gather at noon to begin processing votes cast during early voting to have them ready by the close of precincts this evening.

The process is open to the public and will take place at the Board of Elections office 144 West Ave., Cedartown.

Results from early voting will be available before the rest of the ballot boxes as they come in from precincts around the area.

Check back for results as they become available later this evening here on Polk Today.
