Officials from the Georgia State Patrol reported that one person was injured in a Monday wreck on Highway 27 North, and required an airlift to an area hospital for further treatment.
GSP officials did not yet have a complete report and the wreck is still under investigation that occured on June 13 around 2:30 p.m., and did not yet have any details to share about a motorcycle rider who was traveling south on Highway 27 near the Cedartown city limit and while changing into the left lane and struck an SUV.
Following the impact, the motorcycle overturned and came to a rest on the right shoulder.
The wreck shut down traffic while emergency personnel called for an airlift for the motorcyclist with serious injuries.
GSP officials noted additional details might be available by midweek.
