Charges were filed officially on Thursday against a Kennesaw man who drove around with a woman against her will and was ultimately found at the Quality Inn in Cedartown, according to jail records.

Cedartown Police on Thursday arrested Donte Joshua Freeman around 9:30 a.m. and have subsequently charged him with felony kidnapping and misdemeanor simple battery.

Per officials in a previous report, a third party called from Canal Street in a complaint about the kidnapping around 5 a.m. on Thursday, July 13. Police tracked him for several hours over area jurisdictions until he finally stopped at Cedartown’s Quality Inn.

He was taken into custody without incident and the victim was freed safely.

Freeman remained in custody at the Polk County Jail on the pair of charges without bond set.
