A man who was shot by officers during a domestic altercation back in late May and was taken into custody days after is now bonded out of jail.
The Polk County Sheriffs Office confirmed this morning that Flint Dawson Warren, 63, was released on a $10,000 bond on the multiple charges he faces following the incident.
His bond was set by Judge Mark Murphy during a bond hearing on August 8.
Warren will still have to face court proceedings over felony counts of aggravated assault, obstruction of law enforcement officers, possession of a firearm or knife during the commission of or attempt to commit certain felonies and misdemeanor charges of simple battery – family violence and cruelty to children in the third degree. He was charged following a stay in the hospital and booked into custody in early June.
The charges stem from a domestic incident during the afternoon of May 24 on Pleasant Hill Road where he was accused of choking a victim, and when Polk County Police arrived they encountered Warren who was reported to have reached for a gun in his waistband, and then an officer fired and shot Warren.
He was taken to the hospital at the time in critical condition, but he recovered and was taken into custody a week later.
